I’ll be making the pilgrimage to Dodgertown in a week to say my final goodbyes to the place that all those millionaires have been complaining about the facilities not being nice enough for them.
My bf (who grew up hanging around the Mets), said most of today’s players are spoiled little brats. He said that spring training is about “roughing it” and bringing the team together. Sleeping in bunk beds, eating at picnic tables in a cafeteria, playing childish pranks on one another, the whole schmear. Leaving Vero Beach makes sense, but it’s still heartbreaking.
With regard to Vin, it’ would be nice if the Dogs made it to the World Series so Vin could call it before he retires. As a kid, I remember falling asleep on the beach listing to him and even though I still think Dodger Dogs are vile, he sure can make them sound good!
Thanks for your article and happy Spring Training! Best,Sue
